ALUMNI & FRIENDS

Come enjoy a weekend away! Our prayer for this retreat is for you to leave refreshed, encouraged, and rekindled in your walk with Jesus. Come shatter your expectations and hear talks about biblical sexuality, diversity, and emotional maturity to learn what the Word of the Lord says.

“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.”

MEET OUR SPEAKER!

TIM MARRERO

Tim Marrero is the current speaking pastor at the Akron Chapel known for his unique gift of sharing the Truth in a way that is bold, real, and authentic.

You will get to hear from Tim and walk through life’s expectations and what happens when those expectations are not met. What is the response of the world vs the mature, biblical response? He will ask the question: Are you living your today in step with the Spirit?

BREAKOUT SESSIONS

You will have the opportunity to attend two of the following sessions. These breakout sessions were made with you in mind!

Using resources from Dr. Juli Slattery….we will discuss and understand how every sexual question is ultimately a spiritual one, view sexuality not as a problem to solve but as a territory to reclaim in this broken culture.

We are all children of God – the body of Christ – but how do we celebrate our unique differences, cultures, and values when the world seems to tell us it is easier to be separate. Come begin the conversation with us on race, ethnicity, culture, identity and what the Lord calls us to pursue in these areas.

We all have emotions, some may struggle with fear, anxiety, or sadness while others may struggle with anger, grief, or shame. We all have emotions, so how does Scripture inform us how to view and use our emotions? The life of Jesus shows us how to sit in, work through, and steward our feelings.
