Meet our Staff!

Tom’s favorite titles are husband to Michelle and Dad to Elijah, Katie, Cole, and Jackson. Nothing brings Tom more joy then witnessing the transformational work of Jesus Christ in campers and staff members. As the director, his job is casting a vision for what’s ahead for Camp. Tom rests knowing God will accomplish infinitely more than he might ask or think!

Amy believes strongly in the power of camp and how it can transform lives. It is her mission to make registering for camp a positive experience for families so that the focus can be on experiencing God first-hand through His marvelous creation. As a mother of two, she loves connecting with other parents throughout the process.

Camp has been a major part of Sam’s life since he fell in love with the Christ-centered, fun, relational, and intentional ministry in 1994. Sam joined our team in early 2024 after 14 years in full-time camp ministry. Sam holds a degree in Comprehensive Bible and a master’s in Organizational Leadership. He loves standing in awe of God’s beauty in nature, reading a good book while drinking tea, investing in people, and sharing the joy of life with others.

Wendy’s first camper memory at Camp Carl is devouring s’mores at the campfire while singing “Pass It On.” Years later, serving as a counselor changed her life. Wendy’s role is to develop relationships to help God’s people better engage in kingdom work through generosity. She treasures life with her fun husband Steve and their 3 winsome, extra-tall sons. Her greatest joy is to see people walking in the truth.

Tim loves to be in community with people who love, laugh, play, and rest together well. His passion is helping people find such freedom in the Lord and committing all of their life to the him. He serves as the Director of our Leadership Development Program and loves spending time outdoors with Sarah and their three kids Carter, Norah, and Lilah.

Camp has been a big part of Michelle’s life as a child, teen, and adult. She believes it is a beautiful reflection of God’s creation and love! She feels blessed to have the opportunity to serve alongside so many staff and volunteers to welcome, care for, and lead others towards the love of Christ!

Dan loves the outdoors and sharing his passion for ranch culture and horsemanship with others. He enjoys being a part of the Camp Carl team and aiding in the development of our facilities and property.

Ryan loves FUN and loves fostering an environment where all kids can experience true joy! His primary duties include planning the summer schedule and activities, as well as developing the summer programs.

Kim is an '08 graduate of Cedarville University with a bachelor's in nursing and she specializes in pediatrics. Being impacted as a camper and summer staff member, she experienced the power of camp and fell in love with the mission of transforming lives for the kingdom of God. Kim has served in full-time camp ministry since 2011. She enjoys hiking in the mountains, gardening, and a good cup of coffee.

Mike is passionate about hospitality, camp ministry, and helping volunteers have meaningful connections and a great experience while serving at Camp Carl. He is also a proud member of the official "Camp Carl Dessert Tasting Team"!

Erin has a passion for camp ministry and loves to bring people together through hospitality. She enjoys the creative process of programming the retreats at camp, as well as coming alongside other groups who utilize the property at Camp Carl!

Elaine is a graduate of Liberty University who served on summer staff at Camp Carl for three summers before stepping into the Human Resources position. With a passion for camp and a background in HR and administration, she enjoys using her skills to support both Year-Round and Summer Staff. Outside of work, Elaine loves spending time outdoors and with family and friends!

Allie was raised in Connecticut and graduated from Liberty University. She currently helps lead the Delta Leadership Residency students and also serves hosting retreats. During her free time, you can find her playing lacrosse or hanging with friends! Allie is passionate about discipleship and desires to use her gifts to help raise up the next generation for Christ.

Elijah has been working at Camp full time since August of 2022. Before that, he was a Summer Staff from 2016-2019. He is the Assistant Hospitality and Food Service Manager, and he loves making food that makes you happy. Elijah got married in September of 2021 to his wife, Katie. He thoroughly enjoys disc golf, and pretty much any sport.

Over the past 6 years Sandy has worked as our Hospitality Director. She describes her job as a privilege as she leads a team of staff and volunteers to prepare a variety of meals and snacks throughout the year for campers, summer staff, and guest groups. Sandy says this job has given her the opportunity to minister to the body and soul.

Lena loves Camp Carl and is dedicated to its ministry. She enjoys using her skills in organization and administration to serve and help make the camp financials run smoothly.

Caleb first started working at Camp Carl as Summer Staff from 2012-2016 as Maintenance and Night Security. After graduating high school in 2014, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for 6 years. Caleb married his wife in 2018, and they have two rambunctious dogs. Caleb started full time in the fall of 2022 as the Maintenance Supervisor.

Kyle has been working at camp for about a year as part of the maintenance staff. His main responsibilities are cutting grass, leaf removal, and plowing when it snows. Kyle also helps fix things needing repair and any other projects that pop up around camp.

Katie joined the Camp Carl staff full-time in March of 2024. Before that, she was on the Summer Staff from 2016-2019. Within the camp family, Katie serves as the key visual media champion by creating visually compelling, branded marketing, communications, and development projects. She has a heart for serving others and a deep desire to share the love of Christ through her creativity and interactions!
