October 24 - 26, 2025
We invite you to step away from the noise and discover the joy of growing together in faith as a mother and daughter at Camp Carl. We’ve designed this special weekend to be an intentional time focusing on and growing in your relationship with your daughter and are confident that you’ll benefit from it. Through time in God’s word, worshiping together, and participating in guided discussions, you’ll uncover how God’s truth renews and strengthens your relationship with one another and with Him! Additionally, you’ll get to enjoy fun activities together, great food, and comfortable accommodations.
We know just how special the relationship between a mother and daughter can be; however, we also recognize that grandmothers often play an important role in a girl’s life as well. Therefore, we invite grandmothers to attend as well!
*This weekend is designed for 2nd – 12th grade daughters. We encourage those who have adult daughters to attend our Ladies’ Retreat for an opportunity to enrich your adult mother and daughter relationship.
Theme: Living in the Light as a daughter of the King
Ways to strengthen your heart and life through an understanding of who God is and who He says you are.
Retreat Speaker
Shelly Mountjoy
God has given Shelly the privilege of first and foremost being a daughter of King Jesus. She also enjoys the roles of Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Registered Nurse, Musician, Friend, Mentor, Teacher and Speaker.
Her formal education includes a Master’s of Nursing (Specializing in Education) and additional graduate work in the College of Education. Other areas of study have been poverty in education, health education and conflict resolution. Her professional experience spans working in ICU, teaching nursing, and working as a liaison in the school setting to ameliorate medical and psychiatric problems that impact education.
God has allowed her several formal and informal roles within the church including teaching Senior High Sunday School, working with her husband to lead couples through a marriage enrichment program, coming alongside people in crisis, co-leading a marriage and family community group with her husband, serving as a parenting resource, serving on worship teams, assisting the local church with pre-marital counseling, speaking at women’s events and retreats and helping to educate the church regarding the issues and needs of oppressed women and children.
Shelly has a passion for helping those who love Christ to understand the resources that God provides to help us develop marriages and families. The goals of this are both to equip all of us to handle the hazards that come our way this side of Heaven as well as to foster a healthy joy that fills our households and spills out into our neighborhoods.
